With the idea of hyper local food delivery Sriharsha Majety, Nandan Reddy along with Rahul Jaimini made life easier by changing the way India eats with just a tap through technology which delivers food at the doorstep. The innovative technology enables benefits that include lightning fast deliveries, live order tracking and no restrictions on order amount all while having the pleasure of enjoying a desirable meal.
Swiggy began operations in August 2014 with a few restaurants in Bengaluru. The first Hunger Saviors came into action to deliver food within 40 minutes. In 4 years they have a network in 60 cities with tie ups of 55,000 restaurants. Swiggy expanded far and wide, first through the entire city of Bengaluru and then across the entire country.
Swiggy launched a subscription based programme called Super Swiggy for unlimited free deliveries with no surge fees on orders placed during the rain. They also came up with Swiggy POP which customised with items like bowl meals, Indian Thalis, burgers, biryani etc for working professionals looking for fixed meals.
Along with the expansion from Bengaluru to other cities, there is continuous development and innovation. Features like video of the cooking dish, supporting digital wallets, the Swiggy launch pad add to their prominence in our daily life.
